On 2 December Arena Aviation Capital (Ireland) completed the sale of a 9 aircraft portfolio that was acquired for and managed on behalf of US private equity fund Kennedy Lewis Investment LLC in 2021. The portfolio, a mix of young narrow body aircraft on lease to airlines including Frontier, Spirit, American and Air France, was sold to two separate buyers.

Arena Aviation Capital is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Peter Blakeney in the capacity of Managing Director. As part of the Arena’s strategic expansion, Peter will join the senior leadership team to spearhead the setup and growth of the Irish office which added 12 aircraft to its lease portfolio during the first half of 2021 with further growth expected of at least a similar amount of aircraft during the second half of 2021. With the expansion of in-house capabilities and a growing portfolio, the establishment of an Irish office is an essential milestone in the evolution of the company, necessary to best serve its investor and airline customer base.

Kennedy Lewis Investment Management (“Kennedy Lewis”), a leading opportunistic credit manager, and Arena Aviation Capital (“Arena”), a full-service aircraft investment management company, today announced they have entered into a strategic partnership to launch a $1.5 billion aircraft leasing platform. The platform, named KLA Aviation Finance (“KLA”), will seek to acquire modern technology commercial aircraft assets leased to airlines globally, with a primary focus initially on young and new narrow-body aircraft.
